The Sprig of Shillelagh’ regimental journal came into being in October 1890 and ceased publication in July 1968. The 362 editions of ‘The Sprig’ are held in 34 Volumes and contain more than 9,000 pages of invaluable information about the Royal Inniskilling Fusiliers and regimental life.

The Sprig is a fruitful source of research material providing the sort of intimate detail so often lacking in official reports. The regimental journals will also be of interest to families of relatives who served in the regiment, as well as individuals who enjoy reading personal stories and humorous articles from campaign tours, battalion sports news, soldiers poetry and advertisements associated with army life in a bygone era.

Please note the regimental journals have not been edited and contain historical articles and material which some people might find inappropriate or offensive today and reader discretion is advised.
