Arrival – Enniskillen Castle is close to the town centre and a short walking distance (approx. 50m) from the nearest bus stop. The Castle is sign-posted by brown directional signs at key junctions on the approach.
Parking – There is a free car park outside Enniskillen Castle, which includes 5 accessible parking bays clearly marked and a couple of cycle stands. A drop off point is available in front of the main gate. There is a step-free route from the car park to the Visitor
Information Centre – There is a dropped kerb on the corner of the Visitor Information Centre.
Toilets – Toilets, including accessible toilets, are located in the Visitor Information Centre and the Heritage Centre. An accessible toilet room is available on site via the Visitor Information Centre’s reception.
Baby Changing Facilities – Stations are available for use in the Visitor Information Centre and the Heritage Centre.
The Galleries – The Inniskillings Museum’s collection is housed in the two upper floors of the Castle Keep and the Curved Range. The ground floor of the Castle Keep is accessible by ramp, but the upper floors are only accessible by stairs. The Curved Range stables, although at ground-floor level, may not be accessible to some people due to the cobbled surface outside of the display areas. Please note that lighting is dimmed in the Castle Keep for conservation of exhibition objects.
The Museum Shop – There is a short steep slope off the courtyard, a cobbled gulley at the bottom, more cobbles and then a short narrow portable ramp into the building. The entrance door is wide and opens lightly and there is level access through it. A handling collection is available to all here.
Road Safety – At Enniskillen Castle, the courtyard is used as a parking area for offices, which can be busy on weekdays with cars coming in and out at very regular intervals.
Refreshments – Café at the Castle, located in the Visitor Information Centre, is open from 10am – 4pm on weekdays; 11am – 4pm at the weekend.
